The Goji can significantly improve sight and could reduce up to 25% the risk of AMD

A growing number of people aged 50 and over (9% of Canadians) suffers from AMD (Age Macular Degeneration) or cataracts. These failures, related to eyes, are usually from a prolonged lack of carotenoid and other antioxidant.

The Goji contains everything necessary to improve the eye system. It also contains minerals, such as zinc, which have a direct effect on eyes health.

A study conducted by the Harvard University in USA called "Eye Disease Control Case Study" established a direct link between the lack of zeaxanthin and several eye problems including AMD and cataracts.

The AREDS study conducted by the National Eye Institute, an office of the American health institute, arrives at the same conclusion, but in addition reveals that a zinc intake decreases significantly (up to 25%) the risk to contract an eye disease.

The Goji contains in large quantity all the elements that were used in the studies (with the exception of vitamin E, as explained below) such as beta-carotene, zeaxanthin, zinc and vitamin C.

Interestingly, the Goji contains the highest concentration of zeaxanthin in the world in a fruit. It also contains more vitamin C than orange. Goji is the ultimate fruit choice for preventing eyes problems.

There are vitamin E in Goji leaves, not in its fruit. But vitamin E is essential for the eyes health . We therefore recommend to our readers to pick their intake of vitamin E in green tea. Studies have revealed that daily consumption of green tea reduced by 56% the risk of cataracts in particular because of the exceptional efficiency of vitamin E that it contents.

Note that even if the concentration of elements in the Goji is lower than the doses named in the studies, the results can be equivalent and even upper for 3 main reasons:

  • First reason: the elements on Goji are much more easily absorbed by the body than synthetic elements. On average, multivitamin capsules (and even liquid form) are absorbed less than 20%, which means that 80% of what you ingest will feed unnecessarily your toilets.
  • Second reason: there is a major difference between the absorption of an organic and inorganic element. The organic one is from a plant, the inorganic is derived from synthetic procedures. Studies have demonstrated that elements such as vitamin A, vitamin E and Germanium can lower the risk of cancer if consumed in organic form, but increases the risk of cancer if consumed in inorganic form. All assume that vitamin C from ascorbic acid and vitamin C from the acerola fruit or an orange is not treated the same way in the body. Its effect, therefore, will not be the same, as well as the quantities required. With the Goji we have no fear at all because all the elements are organic and therefore have a optimal nutrition capacity.
  • Third reason: the synergy between nutritional elements is as important as the elements themselves. Most nutritional elements would be useless without the help of other elements with which they interact. The modern science is still unable to replicate the synergy of elements as we found in a plant. Even if we mix in a laboratory vial all the elements that compose the Goji, it would not make Goji. This subtlety that binds these elements and gives them a natural higher power is present in the Goji while he is not in vitamin supplements.

We must not forget that Goji is known as the most powerful antioxidant value in the world for a fruit if we rely on the ORAC scale.

We can therefore infer that Goji has a very powerful effect on eyes health. Coupled with herbal green tea, consumption of Goji would be able to reduce by 25% the risk of AMD and progress of up to 56% risk of developing cataracts.

Several Goji consumers have also indicated an increase of sight and the need to change their lenses, which was becoming too strong.

Again, the Goji demonstrates its outstanding qualities.
