What is Goji?
The Goji is a small fruit discovered by Tibetan monks 4500 years ago. It is used since that time by oriental medicine to treat various health problems. In the 1990's, Hollywood actresses such as Kate Moss and Madonna have integrated Goji berries in their diet. They then attributed to Goji some anti-ages properties, including those aimed at preventing fading hair, give an appearance of the skin more youthful and prevent the development of a very large number of illness. Since then, scientists from around the world are more interested than ever in this small mysterious fruit. There are now millions of Goji consumers throughout the world as well as dozens of scientific studies. The verdict is unanimous: the Goji is a fruit with extraordinary properties. What makes Goji so effective to deal with so many health problem? The Goji is both the most nutritious fruit in the world and the fruit with the greatest anti-oxydant power. It contains 22 minerals (more than any bottle of capsules of dietary supplements), several vitamins and essential fatty acids (such as Omega 3). It is also recognized for holding the highest rate of zeanxantin in the world contained in a fruit and to contain polysaccharides which have, according to some studies, the properties to reinforce DNA and prevent many diseases. It also contains 13% more protein than whole wheat and 3 times more vitamin C than an orange. All these elements, and several others, are aligned in a perfect synergy that no human laboratory would be able to reproduce. The Goji obtains a value of 30 500 on the ORAC scale, the unit used by the U.S. government to establish the anti-oxidant power of food. By way of comparison, the blueberries, recognized for its ability to eliminate free radicals have 2750 only. There is no doubt: for all those who care about their health and quality at a later age, Goji must now be part of their diet. |
